Great points. The situation is pretty similar with regard to the UK and uncontrolled immigration from the EU. Those who think Brexit voters were racist bigots were almost universally middle class educated types, who don’t stop to consider that it’s the working class and the undereducated whose jobs are being lost and whose wages are being squeezed by uncontrolled immigration, and who as a result feel hopeless.
