One of the Glazov Gang’s most popular episodes was joined by Louis Lionheart, a scholar of Islam who engages in open-air debates, dialogues and evangelism on 3rd. Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Ca. His website is: TruthDefenders.com.
Louis came on the show to discuss The Case of Mohammed and Aisha, dealing with the prophet of Islam’s marriage to a 6-year-old girl, and his “consummation” of that marriage when she was 9. Louis discusses the Islamic theology and texts that describe this marriage and how the Islamic and non-Islamic world has dealt, and not dealt, with the Islamic reality of this case.

Aisha, people assume she was married at 9-19 years old. most common version of story – Aisha, when she was 6 was betrothed to Mohammed, who just lost his wife and friends urged him to marry, married her at 9 to strenghten relationship with her father, that was good friend of Mohammed, vaginaly penetrated her at 14. BUT as people still argue about that – Mohammed and Aisha is believed to be couple in complete harmony, after Mohammed died Aisha became a schoolar, judge, advisor. Also Muslims don’t value age – they value how girl can present herself and how ready she is to be a wife( in everybody’s else opinion, but the girls). They say – if girl is immature and will be bad wife at 22 – she will not be married out – but if girl is bright, reached puberty and parents consider her ready for marriage – she will be married out! Mostly parents sign agreement with husband, when husband is allowed to vaginaly penetrate his wife. My point of view is easy to understand – i think NONE of woman is bright enough to know what she is doing, even at age of 18! Woman must have a chance FIND person she wants to be with, not be prepared to be with someone. I will not even start about sexual intercourse – girl must be the one who decide when she is ready for that without any pushing from friends, family, law, husband. Though Aishas and Mohammeds relationships were (believed that was) spiritual, harmonic etc etc – i think it was wrong for parents to promise daughters hand at such young age, wrong to marry her ar such young age and wrong to have sex with her at 14! Forced marriages is WRONG.
Elizabete – Do you have any historical references that points to the age of Aisha being 14 when she had intercourse with Mohammed. All the ones I have seen say she was 9.

The FACT that modern Muslims take very young brides, in single digit years, as well as RAPE pre-pubescent girls tells you EXACTLY how they interpret their rape instructions.
