I think an even bigger issue is the division that vaccination is creating. Many are not getting vaccinated for various reasons. For example, I have a friend in his 70s who has considerable concern about the vaccine because he gets special shots for his arthritis. He is not been able to get an answer whether there is a danger from taking the shot due to his condition. He has said he won’t get one for now until the shot is declared safe for him (a reasonable conclusion in my opinion). Yet, we are now being told that those who don’t have a vaccine will be excluded from certain activities such as going to a college for classes. This is, in my opinion, utter nonsense. First, this is not a permanent vaccine. No one knows how long immunity even lasts. It is totally different than the vaccine for smallpox and the like. What gives organizations the right to say that one must have a COVID 19 shot or else you are excluded from various buildings, events, etc. Will you then be required to show you have a booster shot in so many months? Where does it end? This is despicable and takes away our freedom of choice to make a medical decision for ourselves. What next? Will the government require that you undergo surgery or treatment if you have cancer or some other illness. We are in a sad state of affairs.
